Do you think that the United States should take Iran’s threats against Israel seriously?
First it’s actually Israel that’s been threatening Iran. Their deputy prime minister and prime minister himself proposed attacking Iran. Iranians can’t even afford to start a war BUT have made it clear they will retaliate with full force.

Israel is keen on attacking Iran, with or without NW, as Iran is the only viable threat in the region that can challenge Israel. Iranians want NW as a deterrent to Israel in the first place, and I’m not in favor of Iran having NW . . . . . that means Israel MUST disarm as well.
Why should US take Israel’s side. Is Israel part of US???? US already gives Israel $6 Billion in aid every year (2/3 in military), economy is in recession but US has promised Israel an extra ‘unconditional’ $30 Billion in aid.
However it is likely anyway US will be pulled into Israel’s mess. The stakes are very high. Admiral Mullen (Chairman Joint Chief Of Staff) recently warned US can not afford to open another front. More troops are required in Afghanistan where insurgency is increasing.
Defense Secretary Robert Gates is also taking a cautious approach, fearing the conflict can escalate to regional or worse world war. Thus far the cost of Iraq is - $537487267944!

In other words, Israel EXPECTS the US military to fight on behalf of them.
If Israel feels threatened by Iran, then they should “go it alone” and take military action against Iran.
Israel is a perpetual, endless victim, shouting and screaming, and reminding everybody about the Holocaust.
Why doesn’t Israel declares it’s own nuclear arsenal for a change??
