Knocking in Engine?

Like an idiot I ran my pickup through some deep water today. The truck is a 98 ford ranger 3.0l V6 with a 5 speed manual trans. The truck died. I pushed it out of the water, and started it. I noticed a light knocking at RPMs slightly above idle. I pulled the dipstick and found it milky. I know that there was water in the intake. But I don’t think it hydrolocked as it started back up after I pulled the intake pipe. I bought 3 oil changes worth of filters and cheap oil, plus my normal motorcraft oil/filter combo. I also bought some STP oil treatment.

Do you think it is a bent Con. Rod, or a lifter? I’m praying for a lifter…

I plan on doing several oil changes to hopefully remove the water, then add the STP for added protection with my normal oil.

Sounds like you did hydraulic the motor and bent at least one of the rods slightly . Situations like that won’t effect the lifters , usually the rods give out
