Hand Tools – From Humble Beginnings to Modern Technology
Hand tools have evolved from the stone fashioned cutting and pounding tools during the Stone Age to the power tools that are products of modern technology. The hammer, the saw, the drill and the axe that were indispensable hand tools of builders not so long ago is now replaced by modern day tools. The advent of modern day tools has undoubtedly made the work easier. Production is maximized as well.
Traditional hand tools are still used these days but who would say no to air tools? Air saws, air hammers, air drills are great time and work savers. Because these air tools are pretty expensive they are usually used by businesses. If you have an auto repair shop, apart from the air tools you need to equip your shop with an air compressor, hose, regulator and gauges.
The measuring tool industry has also made major changes too. Calipers and protractors that are used to get reliable and accurate measurement are now made to give the highest degree of accuracy. A digital caliper user can make a fast measurement; get the reading and move on to the next task. The old adage “measure twice, cut once” no longer applies as when a digital caliper is used the measurement will surely be accurate and precise.
